Marlys Tamte, President
Marlys Tamte

As a young child I was ill for several months, and clearly remember the seemingly endless hours of boredom and the disappointment of missing out on the fun times my siblings and friends were enjoying. So when I heard about Camp Get-A-Well-A I was immediately inspired to join the board and contribute whatever I could to their mission. It's enough for a child to be deprived of their health; they shouldn't have to miss out on the best experiences of childhood, too.

My background is in organizational development, communications and marketing. For ten years I've been a consultant, helping large and small businesses overcome obstacles to success. I'm also a speaker, writer, mentor and founder of the Senior Marketing Communications Roundtable, a networking and discussion group on management issues for corporate VPs and directors of marketing and communications.

Keeping myself on a steep learning curve, I'm always pursuing more education. My undergrad degree is from the University of Minnesota, and my MBA from the University of St. Thomas' Executive Program. I completed my professional speaker's training as an affiliate of the National Speakers Association and my facilitation skills training from the Institute of Cultural Affairs
